Warm up with our stoves

The "stoves" part of our name really refers to a whole array of products that make your home a warmer and more inviting place. Our selection includes fireplaces, fireplace inserts, wood burning stoves, pellet stoves, gas stoves and oil-burning stoves, plus all the accessories and hearth tools you can imagine.

We've set up our showroom in Bozeman to let you see what each of these would really look like when it becomes part of your home. We have over 20 live burning units in the store! We invite you to come in and bask in the glow and romance of a fire in the hearth.

As you shop, keep in mind that we provide all in-home installations by our qualified professional technicians, including gas plumbing. All our gas stoves are installed in compliance with HVAC standards. We advise you in proper operating technique and help you arrange for the scheduled maintenance that will keep your hearth burning safe and warm for many, many years.

The best of today's product choices

At Bare's we offer a number of high-quality brands in a wide range of choices.

The wood stoves and inserts at Bare's have integrated today's most sophisticated, sought-after features, such as large, stay-clear viewing glass, the world's most efficient clean-burn non-catalytic technology, top-quality construction and beautiful, distinctive style. Those are musts for our product line, along with the low emissions, tremendous BTU output and outstanding DEQ efficiencies (measured overall efficiency) that make you feel good about using them in your home.

Which choice is best for you?

We think everyone would agree: there's really nothing like a cozy fire to make your home hospitable, comfortable and snug. But there are many ways to accomplish this.

Here's a summary of facts about the various choices:

Wood
• One of the most economical heat sources
• Efficient use of a renewable resource
• Will heat without power (except for optional fans)
• Requires wood to be cut or purchased ahead of time
• Requires more labor than other heat sources
• More "messy" than other heat sources
• Flue should be swept at least once a year

Gas
• Requires no electricity (except for optional fans)
• Efficient use of a non-renewable resource
• Clean
• Easy to operate
• Works when no one is home
• Heating costs with natural gas are similar to purchased cord wood. LP gas is higher in price
• Should be serviced annually

Pellet
• Cleaner than wood; requires semi-weekly cleaning
• Highly efficient use of what was once a waste product
• Requires electricity to heat
• Level, consistent heat
• Requires 40-pound bags of pellets to be stored in a dry place and loaded into stoves
• Costs about the same as LP gas
• Requires weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance

Oil-burning
• Extremely efficient
• Requires electricity to heat
• Level, consistent
• Less expensive than pellets or LP
• Requires yearly maintenance

To make your fire bright

We are constantly adding new accessories to our product line. In addition to fireplace tools and screens, andirons, log carriers and racks, teakettles, bellows, fatwood, hearth rugs, ash vacuums, flamedance color pinecones and more, we have the largest selection of steamers in the valley! Our steamers come in all shapes and sizes, from the traditional to the whimsical. Add a cast iron or enamel trivet to protect your stove and prevent water from boiling away too rapidly.
